Spalding Catholic School to host 33rd and final Gala…“60 Years of Black, Gold & God”

It is with mixed emotions that the Spalding Catholic School Gala Committee announces the details for this year’s Gala: “60 Years of Black, Gold & God”.  The 33rd annual celebration, which is normally a fundraising event, will instead be an evening to celebrate the blessing of having Spalding in the community for over 60 years.  The school will be closing after this academic year.  The event will consist of fine dining, special entertainment, a dance, and drawings for cash prizes totaling over $5,000.

The celebration will be held on Saturday, February 3 at the Hospers Community Center.  The evening begins with Mass at 4:00 at St. Anthony’s Church.  Social hour begins at 5:00 at the Hospers Community Center, with dinner at 6:00, and entertainment at 7:00.  The Big Game Show, a high-energy group, will provide a crowd-engaging experience.  “The committee wants to make this is a memorable night and has partnered with this company to provide a top-notch, fun-filled event,” commented John Heller, one of the committee members.  A cash drawing will follow the entertainment and then a dance, DJ’d by Lenny Brazil, will conclude the evening.

“We would love to have a full house for our final Gala event”, said Deacon Dan Goebel, Development Director at Spalding Catholic.  So many local businesses, parishioners, alumni, parents, and staff have supported our school over the years and we simply want to say, ‘thank you’,” he added.

A limited number of tickets are now available and can be purchased through the Development Office by calling 712-756-4528 or emailing: [email protected]
